The most considerable change in our organization recently was transitioning our team to a local setting. Over the past year, while reflecting on the difficulty of international travel and projects (even during normal times), we collectively decided that shifting our scope would maximize our impact on the communities while keeping us aligned with our values. To finalize the transition, BLUELab India Project changed its name to BLUELab Metro. A shift in community partnerships means that we have the opportunity to build new connections in our local communities and establish long-term partnerships. It also means that we want to carefully choose an organization/s that align with our values and work process and organization/s that we can continue working with in later years. A local scope allows for more choice and flexibility with the organizations we choose to partner with. Although our service in India was a large part of the team, we ultimately decided that it was the best decision to look locally for the upcoming years.
