IiA/MSSI

In the Winter 2021 semester, our team participated in the Innovation in Action (IiA) design challenge through the Center of Socially Engaged Design (CSED). This was an exciting opportunity to apply engineering and socially engaged design concepts to a real-life problem in the local community. We worked with the Mobile Support Services Initiative (MSSI) project team to design a mobile unit specialized in providing critical resources to areas of high need in Washtenaw County. Our team designed a transit bus that prioritized delivering physical and mental health care, food security, and access to Wi-Fi to the community. Following the completion of IiA, we have decided to continue working with the MSSI team on this project.
